Blog Aims

Although I took my blog seriously before the whole new redesign and content inspiration, I want this year to be the year I focus on my blog in terms of growth and keeping content flowing. One of the reasons I went wrong before is because I have any blogging aims; what I want out of my blog and what I want to achieve. Although I don't want to take the fun out of blogging, documenting my blogging aims with you sounded like a good idea, after all you are the ones reading what I write!

Publish some more personal content and stories.
Give back to my readers in a personal manner.
Blog from the heart, not from the head.
Stop comparing my blog to somebody else's.
Improve stock photography.
Don't worry about statistics too much.
Be proud of what I have written and produced.
Open up about my blog to more friends and family.

What are your blogging aims?

  1. These are great goals! I think my main goal at the moment is to connect more with my readers, and understand what they enjoy reading on my blog most.

    1. That sounds like a great idea! I always find that reader feedback is the best way to improve my blog. x

  2. Blogging from the heart I think is such a good one! I think it's so important to write what you enjoy not what other people will enjoy - but I'm sure there will always be people who enjoy the same things!
I feel like at some point I will want to do the last one too but I'm probable going to find that the hardest! I wish you the best of luck with all of these!xx

  4. I definitely need to stop comparing my blog to other peoples, it's such a bad habit! I also agree with wanting to gain the confidence to share my blog with friends and family as I think only one of them has ever read it! You have a lovely blog :) xxx

  6. I love these goals. I too find that a new blog theme or rebrand can help inspire the blog to continue in it's natural direction. xo

  7. We have a lot of the same goals... I just feel like I stop myself from writing stories that are too personal because I know that my friends and family read my blog.

    1. I wholeheartedly agree, Marina. Now that so many people I know in real life are loyal readers of my blog, I'm always a bit hesitant before posting poetry or a random rambling. At first, I think we all try to keep our Blogger and social lives separate, but overtime I've come to realize that the people that love us will, indeed, embrace our passions for blogging. It's refreshing to know that someone understands where I'm coming from, thank you. <3

  8. I really want to tell my famiy about my blog, but I am worried about what they will think, this is probably one of my biggest goals xx

    1. Just some friendly advice here, because many of us bloggers feel like our blogs are too personal to share with friends and family.
I completely understand where you're coming from, but if you're genuinely invested in your blog (which I think you are, because your blog is beautiful!), it should be something you're passionate about. I'm sure your family is going to support your passion wholeheartedly, and you could even share the incredible blogging community we've all created with them!

    2. I agree with Sanjana, and I completely know how you feel! The first 5 months of blogging I told NOBODY about my blog, and then my family found out. Of course, they were concerned about security risks and things but they were really supportive and kind! Hopefully you feel more comfortable about this soon! xx
