What I Got For Christmas 2015

What I Got For Christmas 2015

What I Got For Christmas 2015

I am still in disbelief that Christmas has now been and gone, I love the festive holidays so much that I never want it to end! This is my second Christmas in the blogging world, and I wanted to put together a little post to tell you all what I received for Christmas this year! I know not everyone likes these kind of posts, so do feel free to click off if you are one of those people; but I personally love reading and watching them so I decided to post this.

What I Got For Christmas 2015

I feel incredibly lucky and grateful for all of the lovely presents I recieved, and I had a wonderful day with all of my family. We ate our delicious Christmas dinner, and exchanged presents whilst playing some games and chatting about various topics! This year we had a paper plane making competition as one of our table games, and it was very fun! I always have a great time on Christmas, and I know that without the family it wouldn't be the same.

I decided not to write about my favourites this year, as it became too hard for me to choose as I love everything I recieved! I ended up taking a picture of everything and just adding comments where I thought it was necessary, I think that this is more reader friendly as well!

Our Gingerbread House

Despite Christmas having been and gone, I just wanted to keep the festive season alive for a couple more posts and share my family's gingerbread house. Unfortunately, we couldn't take the risk of trying to bake our own gingerbread to build so we bought some from the trusty Morrisons (well done, Nanny!) and built it from there!

I was in charge of the structure of the house; and built it using the icing supplied - FYI, it was very nice icing, so a few pieces may have gone into my mouth ;) - but was told later I did a rubbish job because the roof started to slide off! After I built it, my sister was decorating the house and I think she did quite a good job of it, don't you think? We tried to keep as close to the packet house as possible, and it looks rather cute!

Have you ever made or built a gingerbread house?

Christmas Wishlist 2015

As it nears Christmas, I always like to read other people's festive wishlists either on YouTube or my blog feed so I decided I would post my own! I put together this wishlist way back in November, which shows just how excited I was, haha! I never expect to recieve any of these presents, but I always like looking round the internet for different presents and ideas to either buy myself or others so I thought you readers may like to take a peak! If you wanted to, you could use this as a late Christmas present ideas for other teenage girls - I am sure they would love anything from this wishlist!

Have you got anything similar on your wishlists?

Last Minute Christmas Present In A Jar

I think we have all been there; Christmas Eve and you suddenly realise you've forgotten a loved ones Christmas present? I have done this a few more times than I would like to remember, but this cute and thoughtful gift has been my lifesaver. This present is just made from things you have at home, which makes it really easy to whip up - and it doesn't look cheap or tacky at all!

Supplies to make festive cookies:
- A jar, as long as it has a sealed lid it doesn't matter what type!
-100g of self-raising flour
- 100g of grated chocolate or chocolate chips.
- 100g of brown sugar
- 30g of cocoa powder
- 2 tsp of allspice

Just weigh out each ingredient and pour it into the jar. The trick is to layer each of the ingredients onto each other so it looks cute and festive! You can't see in the photo, but I started off with the white flour and just poured everything else in after. What I love about this recipe is that you can customise it to suit your needs, if you don't have any chocolate chips just grate or finely chop chocolate instead! If your loved one doesn't like cinnamon flavours, just leave out the allspice!

The last thing to do is just add a label or a gift tag saying to add 1 egg and 80g of butter!*

*I didn't realise it was 80g of butter before I wrote and photographed the pictures; this has been changed since!

Will you be using this recipe as part of your Christmas presents?

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Hello everyone! A little side note to begin; I am writing this at 9:30pm so I can't promise how good this post will be, but I felt I had to get a post up so you didn't all think I had disappeared! I apologize for being so long since my last post, my WiFi has been absolutely awful the last few weeks but it has got fixed now so I can blog again! *celebratory dance to myself* I thought I would do a update post today, as I haven't done one in forever!

I have been struggling with fitting the time in for photography lately, due to school and the lighting being so rubbish - but our school breaks up on Friday, so I am looking forward to getting some good Christmasy shots in good light! I am very sorry if the stock photos annoy you, but it is a great alternative to me to still produce some nice posts for you to read!

A few weeks ago I sang in our schools Christmas concert, and it was so enjoyable! I love singing, and preforming with one of my best friends was so fun and exciting, and I wish I could do it again! We played an acoustic version of All I Want For Christmas Is You, and the feedback we got was really good; so I am super pleased. Do any of you have any musical interests?

Our group of friends did Secret Santa this year, and the big reveal is tomorrow! Am I the only one who enjoys giving out the presents rather than receiving them? It is just so fun, but this could just be me! I have written a whole bunch of cards, for my teachers and friends both and I am so excited to hand them out, haha!

I feel so organised this year, I have all of my family's Christmas presents either ordered online and awaiting delivery or already wrapped up in my little Christmas drawer. Usually, I am the person who is up for a bit of late night shopping on Christmas Eve; I never go unfortunately and so have a reputation for giving money, but this year I have purchased every present with thought and love!

What have you been up to lately?

Gift Guide: Best Friend Edition

Hello everyone! I am so excited for Christmas now, it is only 24 days - how did this year go so fast? I am seeing gift-guides all round the blogosphere lately, but something I haven't seen is gift guides for friends, especially for the teenage generation where money is sometimes an issue when buying good presents; I mean, you got to live life to the fullest right?!

I have collected together a few gift ideas - I would have taken a picture of the individual items but I was too organised and wrapped up all of my gifts - that you can use as inspiration of what you can buy and make your friends this Christmas. I believe in giving someone something you would like to recieve yourself, and all of the ideas here are so cute to make!

Candy Cane Sleigh.
I am using this idea for Christmas this year, as I think they just look so cute and unique! This is a great option for those on a budget, I am giving these to my friends along with something else. The idea is that the two candy canes are the sleigh, and then you can top the sleigh with anything ranging from chocolate to stationery - why not personalise them for each friend?

Skincare Products.
Skincare products are always a hit with my friends, and despite us all being into makeup I think that this could be an option for those who aren't too. I like to get a combination of some top brand skincare products to add that extra special touch to the present, but this is completely up to you.

Sharpie Mugs.
I think that sharpie mugs are such a unique idea for friends gifts, as you can customise each mug for each friend. You can buy cheap mugs in Home Bargains or any budget buy shop, and any permanent marker. My favourite thing about these sharpie mugs is that they are super easy to make, and they can last for years with a special memory.

Christmas Jumpers.
I don't know anyone who doesn't like a good quality Christmas jumper, so why not get your friends one? There are so many options every year, and you can either get a different one per friend or you can all be matching with the same one! I have seen some cute ones at Primark, which is always a good place for some budget buys.

Makeup Bundles.
I love strolling down the isles of Superdrug and Boots, and there are quite a few good quality makeup items that are reasonably cheap to buy. My favourite budget buy makeup brand is Makeup Revolution, as they have some really pretty items including some great eyeshadow palettes and mascaras. I think this would be the perfect present idea for someone who likes makeup, or is just starting to experiment with it!

Mug Cake.
This is such an easy idea for a Christmas present, and it is such a cute one too. My friend did this for my friendship group last year; she chose a mug for each of us from a shop (I can't remember which!) and baked us each a mug cake which she wrapped the mug and cake in cellophane with a cute ribbon. It was such a unique and thoughtful gift, and I loved it! It is also super easy to make, as well as being super inexpensive!

If in desperate need, you can always fall back on a good old book for a Christmas present. Even for those who aren't in to reading, why not get them a adult colouring book or a visual journal to look at instead? Books are a great present to give, as there always seems to be something suitable for everyone; and quite often they are within everyones price range!

Are you going to use any of these ideas?
